Charisma + Christian Life Magazine Digital Version to Reach 300,000
Stang Communications, publishers of Charisma + Christian Life magazine, launched the digital version of the magazine in January, and they intend to send it to 300,000 people in May. The digital edition is not merely a website, but the facsimile of the printed version of the magazine using the iMirus platform, which is also home to a variety of other digital editions of magazines such as Forbes, Better Homes & Gardens and Car and Driver.
The digital version uses Flash technology to display pages in a very dynamic way and readers are able to turn pages just as if they do with the print version of the magazine. It’s a great experience for readers, but it also has a very important bonus for advertisers–readers are able to click on an advertisement and go directly to the advertiser’s website.
The interface is very user friendly with crisp, clear text and the ability to zoom in and out of articles for even more enhanced readability. The magazine also supports audio and video clips embedded in articles. It is expected that in the near future this type of high quality digital publishing will bring an end to print versions of many magazines.
The look of the Charisma + Christian Life magazine digital edition is excellent, and you can see the March issue, featuring Kirk Cameron, by clicking here.
The magazine will not be available on Apple iPads when they are released, because the iPad does not support Flash technology. It can be read on any other computer or other device, including the iPad-like devices being released by Hewlett-Packard and other vendors.
